What is Database ?

Generally here the DBMS refers to the Database and Management System. 


A database is a collection of data and information. A database system is designed for the allocation of data of the certain task that has been assigned.

For example - In a respective college or a university they will have the data of each and every student in including their Name, Address , admission number etc . Here this data regarding the student is allocated(stored) in a database system .

What is DBMS ?

Database Management System(DBMS) is a collection of data and set of programs to access and store those data in easy and efficient manner.We can also refer it as a software to manage database.

DBMS provides an interface between the data and the software applications.

Example :- MYSQL , Oracle .
